After being a lawyer for almost 20 years, I must admit that most of the Rotterdam maritime lawyers do not look like me. Sad really, if you come to think of it. And nothing is really being done to change that, not actively. All you hear is "we would like to", but they just don't apply.

Port of Opportunities might assist here as well, at least for us lawyers to see what can be done and change the manner in which we recruit. We as an industry are stuck in ideas as to what the trodden path should be to qualify for a position.

It is no more than fantastic to see an organisation that understands fully that people who want and can should not be burdened with crazy formalilities and that talen should not go to waste.
