You will be working in the largest port in Europe. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for securing the twistlocks in the cornercasts of the containers on ocean-going vessels. You will work in shifts at one of the most dynamic locations of the port of Rotterdam.
Your day at the terminal: You put your availabilty to work the shifts you like in the companies' app, some time ago. A couple days ago, you saw that you will have an afternoon/evening shift today. So you make sure you are prepared around 2 PM. At 2 PM you will be picked up by a busstop nearby your house, the bus takes you directly to the company you are going to work. At 15:15 your shift starts.
At the end of your shift, around 23:00 o' clock, you get picked up again and brought to the changing room to change into your 'normal clothes'. At 23:15 your shift ends and you take the bus to the same station where you were picked up at the beginning of the working day.
Please note; this is an example of how your day could look like. As you will be working in shifts, the times mentioned can vary. And if you have the possibility to use your own car, you won't need to take the bus.
What you need to have:
Ability to perform heavy work (twistlocks can weight up to 8 kilograms each);
flexibility to work in 3 possible shifts (morning, afternoon/evening & night);
willing to follow 3 days of introduction training at the company;
willing to get your VCA (safety certificate) on our costs;
motivation to work in a diverse team;
drivers license B is a huge advantage, as the same for having your own car.
What to expect?
A salary of €16,18 per hour (which translates to a salary starting at €2800,-);
when you work evenings or nights you get an extra 'irregular working compensation';
when you work in the weekends you also get an extra 'irregular working compensation';
