Energy mechanic/ Engineer

We offer a preparatory programme specifically designed to introduce status holders and Ukrainian refugees to the energy sector. Candidates develop technical skills, learn about safety and Dutch technical terminology, and are introduced to Dutch working culture. This training programme provides them with the knowledge and skills required to start working as technicians/ engineers for network operators and subcontractors.

The following tasks will be part of your job:

As you may move into a variety of roles after completing the 14-week training programme—depending on your background and preferences—it is difficult to describe the specific duties involved.
You might move into roles such as:

  • mechanic;
  • draughtsman;
  • work planner;
  • project planner.

Do you have:

Whilst experience in the energy sector would be a great advantage for this role, the following are the essential criteria for eligibility for this project:

  • you are a status holder or Ukrainian refugee living in the Rotterdam area;
  • you have completed your integration programme and have a command of the Dutch language at B1 level;
  • you hold a valid driving licence.

What do we offer:

You will follow a practical preparatory course designed to prepare you, as a refugee with recognised status, for a work-based training programme as an (electrical) technician/ engineer. During the 14-week course, you will develop technical skills, learn how to work safely, and practice using Dutch technical terminology and familiarize yourself with the workplace culture.

Upon completion of this course, the aim is for you to start working as a technician or engineer within the energy transition sector in the area of Rotterdam.
